Frequently Asked Questions
Your fragrance questions, answered.
Is the store open for orders?
We are preparing the Velvet Accord online store. Ordering and delivery information will be available when we launch. Contact hello@velvetaccord.ca for launch enquiries.
What is the difference between EDT and EDP?
Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum describe fragrance formats. Their concentration and composition depend on the product; an EDP may differ in character from the EDT with the same name. Check the exact version on the product page rather than choosing by the name alone.
How do I choose a fragrance family?
Fresh scents often feel bright or crisp; florals centre on flower-like notes; woody compositions evoke woods; amber scents tend toward warm, resinous or sweet impressions. These are starting points, and many fragrances combine families.
Can anyone wear a fragrance labelled for men or women?
Yes. These labels can help organize a collection, but your preference is what matters. Explore across categories to find a scent you enjoy.
How can I check my perfume?
Compare the product details, inspect the packaging and bottle, and review the batch codes where provided. No single visual check or online batch lookup proves authenticity. See our fragrance authenticity guide for the steps and how to ask for help.
What are testers and unboxed fragrances?
These describe packaging conditions. A tester may come in simpler packaging or without a decorative cap; an unboxed item lacks its retail outer box. Check the specific listing for what is included. The label alone does not establish authenticity.
How long will a perfume last on my skin?
There is no fixed duration for every fragrance. Formulation, application, skin, weather and storage can affect performance. Longevity alone is not an authenticity test.
Where can I find shipping and return information?
Our shipping and return terms are being finalized for launch. Confirmed policies and checkout charges will be available before purchases open. For questions now, email hello@velvetaccord.ca.
How should I store perfume?
Follow the product label and keep the bottle closed, away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, flames and children. Keep its original packaging if you may need to raise a product concern.
